01 / CONTEXT
The problem behind the interface.
A college-football season moves through distinct phases. The public interface needs to reflect the current state, while editors need a clear way to manage copy and featured content.
02 / MY CONTRIBUTION
What I worked on.
- Built frontend foundations, six season-aware presentation states, featured-player layouts and searchable, sortable player tables.
- Implemented editorial administration for hero copy, section headings, featured content and ballot configuration.
- Integrated the external ballot experience, consent-aware analytics, responsive table behavior and accessibility improvements; added end-to-end checks and CI.
03 / ENGINEERING DECISIONS
The details that matter.
One season state drives the experience.
Shared state rules determine what the interface shows. Player statistics, points and leaderboards must reflect the available data instead of simply following a marketing label.
Editors need understandable states.
The frontend distinguishes loading, saving, validation errors and conflicting edits. Clear feedback matters as much in editorial tools as it does on the public site.
Reuse the data contract.
Frontend work consumes the backend team’s published artifacts. Keeping that contract explicit makes client-side discovery and editorial changes easier to reason about.

A clear account of the work.
Reviewed Danny-authored commits, frontend handoff, package manifest and accessibility/CI changes.
The ingestion pipeline and upstream sports data are team and partner systems. Danny’s contribution is not described as building the entire voting or data infrastructure.
